A slice of Old West lifestyle on display at Tumbleweed Ranch
Experience a rare, up-close look at Western history at this free, family friendly culinary event. Using historic cooking methods, authentic 1880s chuck wagons from around the Southwest compete to cook up the best meals fit for the trail. All cooking is done over wood fires, much of it in Dutch Ovens.  Wagon teams win prizes in various food categories and the public can purchase these unique chuck wagon meals. Join us Friday evening for a fun Campfire Glow with cowboy storytelling, singing and s’mores. On Saturday, enjoy the western ambiance with performances by internationally acclaimed musicians Pioneer Pepper & the Sunset Pioneers, gun-fight reenactments, historic demonstrations and hands-on activities, and wagon rides to the Arizona Railway Museum. Sunday includes chuck wagon breakfast, a youth cook-off, and cooking demonstrations by radio/TV personality and author Jan D’Atri. Event supports the educational development of Tumbleweed Ranch.
